A woman has rescued 27 paralysed dogs in an attempt to save them from being put to sleep.

Claire Louise, who runs the charity Wheels To Paws UK, appeared on This Morning where she spoke to Alison Hammond about her non-profit organisation.

And while surrounded by her pack, the pooch lover couldn’t help but joke about their names.

Pointing to one of her fur babies, Claire laughed: ‘That one is called Elton John because he was paralysed but he is still standing.’

She continued to explain her situation, adding: ‘Basically, they come from all over the world.

‘We started off with Thomas Cook, and he does like to travel.’

Getting distracted by a barking hound, she called out: ‘David Bowie come here – he’s the noisy one, he wants the limelight.’

We’re in love.

The founder of the charity continued: ‘They have come from all over the world and most of them have been hurt by humans, one had his leg blown off in Bosnia.

‘If I didn’t have them they would be put to sleep.’

Talking about the foundation, she shared: ‘I get them walking again, we get them to physio therapy.’

Claire beamed: ‘They are allowed to sleep anywhere, wherever they rest. They have their own dog bed, they sleep on the bed with me, my daughter has six.’

But despite hanging out with 27 puppas, not everything is as it seems, as Claire went onto open up about the expense that goes into looking them.

‘Rita Ora down there has just had her tail amputated, and that cost me £800,’ she confessed.

Not only that but the Diamond Dog that is David Bowie only has three legs and had to have physio treatment to start walking again.

But it seems her love for the pups has rubbed off on her neighbours – who all have rescue dogs of their own.

This Morning continues weekdays at 10.30am on ITV.
