Ford v Ferrari or Le Mans ’66 for those who live internationally is soon due out in cinemas and theaters around the world and if you’re wondering whether the motorsport drama is headed to Netflix. Let’s take a look.

The new movie which features the talents of Matt Damon and Christian Bale sees the famous 1966 Le Man race where Ford decided to not only compete in the 24-hour race but try and win.

Reviews are looking strong with it sitting at 73 on Metacritic right now with The Playlist saying “Ford v Ferrari is the sort of cinematic entertainment that sucks you in and won’t let you go until you cross the finish line.”

Now, let’s take a look at the streaming future of the movie.

Will Ford v Ferrari come to Netflix in the United States?

Let’s take a look at the United States first as it’s possibly the easiest to answer. No.

For the moment, 20th Century Fox has a theatrical deal with HBO where new movies end up on HBO around 9 months after its theatrical run. That deal won’t likely continue forever but Disney, the owner of 20th Century Fox has been putting the rest of its library on Hulu.

Sadly, we don’t see many 20th Century Fox titles on Netflix in the US anymore so don’t expect Ford v Ferrari to appear anytime soon.

Will Le Mans ’66 come to Netflix in other regions

We’ll kick off with the United Kingdom. 20th Century Fox has a long-standing relationship with Sky and its streaming service NowTV. Although some 20th Century Fox titles do come to Netflix in the UK, they don’t a consistent fashion. Therefore, it could be years before Netflix UK sees Le Mans ’66 added, if at all.

In Australia, the movie will find itself on Foxtel first but much like the UK, doesn’t have a consistent release schedule beyond.

In Canada, the movie will likely find its way onto Crave (owned by Starz) and that’s it. No other streaming service seems to get 20th Century Fox titles after that.

That’s obviously disappointing for most but Netflix does have plenty of other movies on the way. You can keep up-to-date with those on our coming soon page.
