MADRID, Sep. 19 (Moose Gazette) –
The Kremlin has branded this Monday as “lies” the accusations of war crimes by Russian forces in the city of Izium, recently recovered by Ukrainian troops and where mass graves and “torture chambers” would have been found.
“It is the same scenario as in Bucha. Everything takes place according to a scenario. It is a lie,” said the spokesman for the Russian Presidency, Dimitri Peskov. “We will defend the truth in this whole matter,” he said, according to the Russian news agency Interfax.
Peskov already rejected in April the accusations against the Russian Army in the killing of hundreds of civilians. On this occasion, the Ukrainian authorities have claimed to have found more than 400 graves and about ten “torture chambers” after the withdrawal of Russian forces from the area.
