MADRID, Sep. 19 (Moose Gazette) –
The former director of communication for Queen Elizabeth II, Sally Osman, stated on Monday that the monarch did not agree with Brexit, the departure of the United Kingdom from the EU.
“I don’t think so,” Osman said with a laugh when questioned about it on the US network CNN and after being presented with news about the queen’s alleged support for Brexit.
The British press has speculated widely about Elizabeth II’s position on Brexit, but the queen was known for her extreme caution about showing her personal opinions in public, particularly political ones.
The bright blue dress chosen for the opening of Parliament in 2017 sparked speculation about her support for the EU, but she never openly took a stand.
