MADRID, Sep. 21 (Moose Gazette) –

The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, has called for “maximum pressure” to be imposed on his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, to end a “meaningless” war in Ukraine, hours after the Russian president ordered the partial mobilization of reservists.

Russia, according to Macron, is “increasingly isolated”, trapped “in a war that only they want”. The mobilization decree will contribute to this isolation, said the French president, in a statement to the media from New York collected by the BFMTV network.

Macron has said “regret” the “partial mobilization” announced by Putin. “The decision is contrary to the meaning of history”, he has emphasized on the margins of the UN General Assembly, which these days brings together representatives of countries from all over the world.
