Lucifer star Tom Ellis has thrown it back to the time he starred in Miranda as Gary Preston.

Celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the show, he showered the leading lady, Miranda Hart, with praise as he shared a picture of the duo on set.

Taking to his Instagram, the 40-year-old reminded us of what feels like a distant memory, and we’re forever grateful.

’10 years ago today the first episode of #Miranda aired on @bbctwo,’ he wrote before adding: ‘It will always be a precious time in my career.’

Turning his attention to the cast, the actor continued: ‘My affection for the people involved knows no bounds. Especially my dear friend and genius @realmirandahart #10yearsofsuchfun.’

Fans were quick to comment and couldn’t help but get emotional over the snap.

‘Crying, crying everywhere,’ one wrote while another added: ‘Aw my goodness my absolute favourite comedy show in the world.’

Someone else said: ‘It must be an amazing feeling to be part of a show that is still touching people ten years on. It always has you laughing within minutes. Thank you.’

Others quizzed the star over whether or not he’d be returning to the one-off special.

BBC One will be hosting an evening at The London Palladium, later this year, where they will be celebrating the much-loved show.

‘Miranda: My Such Fun Celebration promises an unforgettable night of magical memories,’ they said.

‘With Miranda at the helm, viewers can expect not only some poignant reflections and behind the scenes titbits but much silliness, dancing and enforced galloping.’

And the lady of the moment also had her say on what fans can expect: ‘What happened with my sitcom and comedy alter-ego over the last ten years has been unexpected to say the least, so it’s very moving for me to have the chance to celebrate and thank my cast and the fans from The Palladium stage.

‘We are hoping to put together a what-I-call such fun hour of television for them all.’

Miranda: My Such Fun Celebration will air later this year on BBC One.
