Love Island star Hannah Elizabeth has defended herself for having her hair and makeup done after giving birth.
The model, who appeared on the first series of Love Island back in 2015, welcomed her first son Reggie on 6 November.
However, while Hannah was inundated with messages of congratulations after she announced her baby’s birth, her first picture with her son wasn’t as well received.
The 29-year-old shared a picture of herself sitting up in bed with her newborn baby lying on her chest – with Hannah wearing a full face of make-up, including false eyelashes, and rocking voluminous curls.
And some people weren’t impressed at Hannah’s makeover post C-section.
One follower wrote: ‘Imagine putting on your make up and doing your hair after having pushed out a baby instead of cuddling it’, while another commented: ‘Gorgeous!💙 (Although would be even more inspiring if you posted what you truly looked like after just giving birth).’
Hannah took to her Instagram account to hit out at the trolls, defending her right to get glammed up after giving birth.
The Playboy model wrote: ‘And yes haters I did have makeup on after giving birth.Actually I had had a curly blow pin curls the lot. I wasn’t gonna meet my son for the first time and best day of my life rough was I. I had a C section so the birth was planned chilled and amazing.’
She continued: ‘So apparently after having a baby u arnt allowed to wear makeup or look alf ok as it offends other women WTFFFF! The amount of bitter girls on here is a joke. It’s actually disgusting.
‘Because apparently u shouldnt take time from your baby to “cake makeup on” so when the nurse says to get up n go for a shower freshen up your meant to just lie in the bed sweatin? And its “offensive” to other mums lol wtffff [sic].’
Hannah concluded: ‘Will always be a glam mum I will never change who I am’ – while she also shared a picture moments after welcoming baby Reggie.
In fairness, she was still wearing her statement lashes during the C-section.
Hannah confirmed that she had split from fiance, and her baby’s father, George Andreetti days before she welcomed Reggie – telling fans she dumped her partner after finding out she was pregnant.
She told Mail Online: ‘‘I left George when I found out I was pregnant, I had to do what is right for me and my baby.’
Explaining her decision to end her relationship with the self-described ‘spiritual teacher and healer’ after getting engaged in 2018, Hannah continued: ‘He isn’t well at the minute and I don’t agree with what he is posting online.
‘I’m going into this as a single mum, on my own with no support.’
