Leona Lewis angered viewers with her shaky performance of Bridge Over Troubled Water at the Festival of Remembrance.

The former X-Factor winner sang a version of Simon and Garfunkel’s song that ended up with a lot of criticism.

On the bright side, Leona looked phenomenal in a dark purple dress worthy of any Disney princess.

However, people didn’t appreciate her singing struggles had to fall on and ‘butcher’ the 75th anniversary of D-Day and Monte Cassino.

The ceremony was held at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Saturday evening and had an audience of servicemen and veterans.

Fans were quick to take to social media to attack the Bleeding Love singer for her version of the song.

One user tweeted: ‘Ah here, nobody needs Leona Lewis. Butchering one of the most evocative songs of all time too.’

‘#FestivalofRemembrance as if those poor souls didn’t sacrifice enough they have to put up with Leona Lewis murdering Bridge Over Troubled Water!’ another user tweeted out.

Leona last released a single back in 2015 but is still considered one of the UK’s best vocal artists.

One angry viewer tweeted: ‘And the award for the worst rendition of Bridge Over Troubled Water ever sung goes to Leona Lewis.. Definitely peaked at Bleeding Love. #FestivalofRemembrance’

Ouch, we hope she doesn’t see any of the comments.

Despite the anger, a lot of people came to the A Moment Like This singer’s defence.

‘@leonalewis please don’t be discouraged. You are beautiful, have a beautiful voice, and always will,’ one eager fan posted.

Another fan tweeted: ‘Ignore the haters @leonalewis the only way they can feel happy about themselves is when they put others down , you sounded and looked beautiful’, along with a heart emoji.

So which one is it? Was she good or did she ‘butcher the song’?

The event also had a stirring performance from James Blunt himself, king of self-deprecating comedy.
