Hollyoaks’ far-right extremism narrative may be set to reach a shocking climax soon, but it would appear as if Stuart Sumner’s (Chris Simmons) son Sid (Billy Price) has plenty of reasons to stick around, what with him having developed a close bond with Juliet Quinn (Niamh Blackshaw), and — in the coming episodes — the two teenagers decide to go on a date.
Viewers saw Sid return to screens last week, as he complained about the prospect of having to live with his dad and Jonny (Ray Quinn).
Upon returning to school, he was ostracised as a result of the explosion which took place in the village several weeks back, and Imran (Ijaz Rana) informed him that he’s as guilty as his father.
However, in spite of what her friend said, Juliet felt for Sid, and claimed that it’s unfair to judge someone based on the actions of their parents. The pair shared a drink and got to know one another, before exchanging phone numbers. In the coming episodes, a date is set in motion.
With Stuart and Jonny watching Ste’s (Kieron Richardson) every move, Stuart informs his son to keep a watchful eye on the young man while he’s gone.
However, Sid’s got his date with Juliet — which is something Ste manages to use to persuade him to leave him on his own.
Sid agrees to go on the date, but whether or not romance will ensue for the pair remains to be revealed.
It’s been a tough year for both characters — and both know what it feels like to be judged on the actions of their elders — so perhaps this will result in the two developing a close relationship?
One to watch: Tuesday 12thNovember at 7pm on E4.
