A gunman who killed three people at a US Naval base Friday is a Saudi Arabian soldier, it has been claimed.
Five US defense officials confirmed the killer’s identity to CNN, although he has not yet been named.
The shooter killed three before being shot dead by sheriff’s deputies at Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Florida, on Friday morning. Eight people were injured, two of them criticaly.
Escambia County Sheriff’s Office are now working to establish whether the shooter had a terrorism-related motive.
Sheriff David Morgan refused to comment on a potential motive during an earlier press conference, when a reporter quizzed him about the prospect of it being a terror attack.
