Gabrielle Union has subliminally hinted she’s been having some tense phone conversations recently as the drama surrounding her firing from America’s Got Talent rages on.
The Bring It On actress has become embroiled in controversy following her axing from Simon Cowell’s hit talent series last month, when it was claimed she had complained of a ‘toxic culture’ and racist jokes being made.
It was also alleged that Gabrielle, 47, was told her hairstyles were ‘too black’ for the AGT audience.
As the drama continues to unfold, the actress appears to have shared an insight into her state of mind through her baby daughter Kaavia.
Gabrielle shared a series of adorable photos showing the one-year-old chatting on her toy phone and looking serious as Instagram’s sassiest tot tends to do.
‘@kaaviajames has been here before and she was fed up then too,’ Gabrielle captioned the image.
Suggesting she’s had some serious conversations recently herself, the actress added: ‘This child is a MOOD! And clearly I’ve been on the phone too much lately… She has me down pat… including that lil hand!’
Even more tellingly about her current ordeal, Gabrielle added: ‘And she’s not gonna go along to get along either.’
Over the weekend, AGT released a new statement on the drama and stated they were in contact with Gabrielle’s team about how to improve their workplace environment.
So that might explain those tense conversations.
The statement said: ‘We remain committed to ensuring a respectful workplace for all employees and take very seriously any questions about workplace culture.
‘We are working with Ms. Union through her representatives to hear more about her concerns, following which we will take whatever next steps may be appropriate.’
Sources claimed that America’s Got Talent bosses decided not to renew neither Gabrielle or Julianne Hough’s contracts as guest judges for the next season.
It was said that Gabrielle had taken offence to an alleged joke made by comedian Jay Leno, in which he quipped about dogs being on the menu at a Korean restaurant, perpetuating the stereotype that Asian people consume the animal.
The Bring It On actress was also reportedly told that her hairstyles were ‘too black’ for the general AGT audience, as she often changed it each week.
Fans of the actress began sharing pictures of their versatile hairstyles through the social media hashtag #BlackHairChallenge, which Gabrielle reacted to.
