Gemma Winter (Dolly-Rose Campbell) and Chesney Brown (Sam Aston) haven’t had it easy in Coronation Street as of late, but with their babies having finally arrived, it’s safe to say that the pair could do with a break right about now, and — in the coming episodes — that’s exactly what they they get! Yes, the couple are offered a huge deal, and they’re left speechless as a result.
With four new babies to care for, Gemma and Chesney could no doubt do with some extra cash. In the coming episodes, they’re approached by the marketing manager of Freschos, who proceeds to asks if the new parents — and their newborn babies — would be interested in becoming the new faces of the supermarket.
Gemma and Chesney don’t know what to say and, as they think about how best to proceed, they return home — and get yet another shock. Yes, Gemma receives a phonemail from the hotel they’d stopped in while in Llandudno — and the caller informs them that they owe £500 for extras.
Gemma opens the fridge door to find it stuffed with miniatures — and makes a beeline for Bernie, who then claims that she thought the extras were free.
Left with no other choice but to pay off Bernie’s debts, Gemma and Chesney agree to meet with Tara from Freschos to discuss the offer that was made to them — and they’re left stunned when Tara offers them £60k.
Bernie’s delighted when she hears Chesney and Gemma’s news, and thus they all congregate in the Rovers for a drink.
However, Bernie proceeds to suggest that a holiday is in order, but Gemma disagrees, as she believes that her children need to come first.
Will Bernie’s meddling cause more problems for Gemma and Chesney?
