Ant McPartlin is set to face his estranged wife Lisa Armstrong in a court battle over their divorce.
The I’m A Celebrity presenter’s wife reportedly rejected his ‘generous’ chunk of their £62 million fortune as she isn’t concerned about the money.
According to MailOnline, lawyers are preparing for a High Court hearing next year, which mean details of the marriage may be made public.
It also means any revelations about Ant’s battle to overcome his alcohol addiction will be made public.
Lisa, a make-up artist on BBC1’s Strictly Come Dancing, reportedly felt like Ant ‘got away with a lot’ after they split in 2017.
A source told the publication: ‘Ant has been very generous in terms of the financial settlement but Lisa is totally the opposite of someone who is motivated by money.
‘She doesn’t care about that – she earns her own. But she has been so hurt by all of this.
‘What the general public and his fans don’t realise is that Ant’s decision to end the marriage came after years of Lisa trying to save him from himself.’
They continued: ‘There were at least three years when she was at her wits’ end and it was tough. Watching him move on was very, very difficult. Lisa is very much aware that a judge may not award her as much as Ant is offering but she doesn’t care.
‘She has suffered tremendously in all of this and she wants her day in court.’
Meanwhile, Ant doesn’t seem too worried as he arrived in Australia alongside Declan Donnelly ahead of the forthcoming series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and we’re buzzing.
The Geordie duo looked delighted to be Down Under together for the first time in two years, as Ant was replaced by This Morning‘s Holly Willoughby on the 2018 show as he took a break from television commitments following his drink-drive arrest.
Celebrating being back in Oz and by each other’s side, Ant and Dec shared a selfie as they grinned from ear to ear and captioned the pic: ‘G’day Au.’
Unsurprisingly, fans went crazy for the snap, with one commenting: ‘Can’t wait for the new series guys!! Nice to see you back too Ant!’
‘How does it feel to be back Ant? Certainly good to see you guys both there together again! Can’t wait for this series,’ enthused another.
